CheckMateRadio Traffic Logging System
| Features | |
Designed for use on seagoing vessels, CheckMate will run on any Windows PC. It allows the Master to instantly and accurately compile the radio account for any calling party or Charterer, and to report the results ashore for accountancy purposes.
The CheckMate Radio Traffic Logging System offers these main areas and functions;
Message logging
-
CheckMate accepts keyed-in details of radio communication originated by the vessel. Most modes of radio communication are covered, including Inmarsat satellite, radio telephony, telex and morse code. All data entry fields are accompanied by comprehensive pick-lists, to assist the new user.
Automatic interface
-
When paired with a prologue data collection unit, an automatic logging system can be implemented. Call records are downloaded from a suitable satellite communications unit to be analysed, priced and recorded to a caller's account using advanced identification techniques. You will find more information about ProLogue below.
Call route analysis
-
Economical Inmarsat routing advice is given. Working from an outline of the prospective call, the system will show the expected costs via all available stations. This feature alone can result in significant reductions of communication costs.
Tariff updates
-
The system is connected to the Master Charges Database, which is maintained by SELEX Elsag Ltd - Marine Division. At regular intervals, a floppy disk containing the latest prices is sent to registered users via mail. The system will collect the data from this disk completely automatically.
If more frequent updates are required, the local charges database can easily be refreshed via an e-mail or telex message.
The latest data is also available for customer collection from the Midas area here.
Reports to order
-
The system creates printed reports for these items:
Universal In-box
-
CheckMate uses compressed telex messages to carry both inbound
and outbound data. Telex characters are universal - they can
safely be carried by any communications medium. The facility
is known as TTX - Telex to Telex Exchange.
TTX is not confined to the CheckMate system. It can also be used
to carry the ship's files and data ashore in an efficient and
cost effective manner.
If Internet or other email facilities are available, reports and updates may be sent using those paths.
How to obtain CheckMate
-
CheckMate is provided as an integral part of the SELEX Elsag Ltd - Marine Division Radio Traffic
Accounting Service. There is no additional cost for this component for vessels under our Accounting Authority code of GB08.
It can be purchased as a product by those vessels who are not clients of the Accounting Service. Contact our sales team.

ProLogueAutomatic Data Collection Facility
| Features | |
Designed for use on seagoing vessels, ProLogue will run on any Windows PC which has an unused serial (COM) port available. It collects call records from Satellite communication devices.
The ProLogue Automatic Data Capture unit offers these main areas and functions;
Data collection
-
Modern satellite communications equipment has the ability
to store a number of records concerning calls made and received.
These records are typically reviewed on a monitor screen or printed
out for reference.
ProLogue is designed to intercept records being sent to the
system's printer, storing them instead in a computer file. This
file becomes an input stream to be read by CheckMate on its external
Call Logger interface. You will find more information about CheckMate
here.
Information History
-
The system keeps track of the data which has been previously
collected, allowing the information to be reviewed or imported
once more into the paired logging unit.
How to obtain ProLogue
-
ProLogue is available for purchase. Contact our sales team and mention the
make and model of the satcom you have, to check it's suitability.
